Directions: Take the Italian Autostrada A1: Milan – Modena – Bologna – Firenze – in the direction of Rome. If you come from Rome, take the A1 in the direction of Firenze – Bologna. Exit this highway at the Valdichiana exit (about 90 KM after Florence coming from the North, or about 150 KM after Rome coming from the South). Having paid the toll you keep to the right and follow directions for Perugia, towards the SS75 or “Raccordo Perugia – A1 Bettolle”. After a few 100 metres you will enter the SS75. This is the provincial highway (no toll), connecting Siena and Perugia. Follow this highway in the direction of Perugia for about 35 kms. After a while, having passed the exits for Foiano della Chiana, Cortona and Castiglione del Lago, you will see Lake Trasimeno on your right hand side. Exit at the Tuoro exit, which is a sharp right turn. Leave the railwaystation on your left and keep going to the right at the crossroads, underneath the highway, take the short steep hill up. On the top of this go to the left (obligatory direction) and immediately to the right again following signs for Tuoro, Umbertide and Lisciano Niccone. You are now on the SS416 entering the village of Tuoro. There are houses on both sides of this street (Via Sette Martiri). At the end after about 800 metres there is a crossroads, go to the right in the direction of Passignano sul Trasimeno and Vernazzano (1.5 km). This is the Via Firenze, the SS75bis. After 1.1 km, having passed the last houses of Tuoro and before arriving at Vernazzano, you see a non asphalted lane aligned with olive trees on your left hand side. At this point there is a large pine tree on the right hand side of the road. Take the lane to the left aligned with olive trees. After 400 metres there is the first entrance for La Fattoria del Rio di Sopra. 100 metres furtheron is the second entrance.
